Ambassadors play a key role in “getting the word out” about the benefits of primary source-based instruction to the educational community and beyond.

Ambassadors for Learning are leadership opportunities to serve as experts and mentors to perpetuate the use of LOC.gov digital resources in the local community and beyond. Ambassadors participate in a network and professional development to further their own expertise and knowledge with using LOC.gov resource and Best Instructional Practices.

Ambassadors for Learning Program Goals

  1. Support and extend the use of LOC.gov resources through a variety of means including:
    • Serve at the school, district, or state level with professional development programs to further the use of LOC.gov resources.
    • Publish and review additional Library of Congress primary source-based content to be shared with other teachers.
  2. Participate in research that examines student achievement in primary source-based Learning Experiences implemented through a framework of Best Instructional Practices.
  3. Present published Learning Experiences and Action Research at educational conferences, with an emphasis on local and state level opportunities.
