"Sort-it-Out" asks students to examine primary source images for details, define at least two groups (concepts or attributes) that the pictures could be sorted, and then to sort the pictures into the defined groups. Students are challenged to create several different sorting groups for the set of images. With each additional sort students examine the images more closely, use their creativity, and must think deeper about the connections among the group of pictures.
