Saving a Permanent URL

Using Internet Explorer for Windows ( Firefox Users ↓, Safari Users ↓)

  1. Locate the item of interest.
  2. In order to SEE the permanent URL, you must select Source under the View Menu. Notepad will open displaying the HTML code that makes up the Web page being viewed.

  3. Locate the permanent URL by scrolling down to the bottom of the text window. Using the mouse, highlight the permanent URL. Be sure to begin with the "http" and end with the "))".

  4. Copy the permanent URL you just highlighted. You can do this several ways:
    • Right-click and select Copy
    • Go to the Edit menu and select Copy,
    • Use Ctrl+C on your keyboard.
  5. Close the Notepad window.
  6. Paste permanent URL where needed.

Firefox (Internet Explorer for Windows Users ↑, Safari Users ↓)

  1. Locate the item of interest.
  2. In order to SEE the permanent URL, you must select Page Source under the View Menu. A new Firefox window will open displaying the HTML code that makes up the Web page being viewed.

  3. Locate the permanent URL by scrolling down to the bottom of the text window. Using the mouse, highlight the permanent URL. Be sure to begin with the "http" and end with the "))".

  4. Copy the permanent URL you just highlighted. You can do this several ways:
    • Control + Click and select Copy
    • Go to the Edit menu and select Copy
    • Use Command (Open Apple) + C on your keyboard.
  5. Close the new Firefox window
  6. Paste permanent URL where needed.

Safari (Internet Explorer for Windows Users ↑, Firefox Users ↑)

  1. Locate the item of interest.
