Alternate between the window with the directions for the Scavenger Hunt and the window of the Library of Congress Web site by selecting the appropriate page from either the Task Bar at the bottom of the screen (Windows) or the Window Menu (Mac).

  1. Have you been to any of the countries with which the Library of Congress has Collaborative Digital Libraries? Hint: Go to Global Gateway, Collaborative Digital Libraries.
  2. What are two interesting primary sources in an Online Exhibitions? Hint: Go to Online Exhibitions, scroll down the list until you find a title that interests you, click on it, look for a link to "Enter Exhibition" or a title that brings you to the primary sources included in that Exhibition.
  3. Look in Thomas to see how many bills about education have been introduced in this session of Congress? Hint: Go to Thomas, type in "education"; under Search Bill Text, click on Search.
  4. What is helpful about the Ask a Librarian service? Hint: Go to Ask a Librarian.
  5. Look in Today in History to find out what happened in history on your birthday? Hint: Go to Today In History, Go to archives (in the blue box), At #2 enter your birthday.
  6. Choose a Community Center that interests you. What information is available there? Hint: Go to Teachers, look under Resources for "Thematic Resources", scroll through list.
  7. Find two Collection Connections on topics that interest you from the Learning Page. How might these resources be useful to you? Hint: Go to Teachers, The Learning Page, Collection Connections, Collection Connection Index, Look under the titles and choose collections that have teaching resources.
  8. What is your favorite topic in America's Library? What do you like about how that topic is presented? Hint: Go to Kids, Families, Click on America's Library, Choose a section, play the games and read the stories.
  9. Name a question from Everyday Mysteries that interests you. Hint: Go to Kids, Families, Everyday Mysteries, Browse Other Questions and Answers.
  10. What is one Collection Guide or Bibliographies that you find intriguing? Hint: Go to Researchers, Virtual Programs, Services, Collection Guides, read through the list.
