Chapter 1 - Explore LOC.gov

This chapter assists Library of Congress Web site patrons with an orientation to LOC.gov through a series of explorations. Patrons will complete the activities under Patron Actions in an effort to answer the Investigative Question and reflect on the Understanding Goal.

These explorations are differentiated for use by patrons with a variety of purposes:

  • Visitors with general curiosity about a topic;
  • Researchers who set out to answer a specific investigation question;
  • Docents whose experience with a topic and the Library of Congress resources leads to extensive research.
